Cheaper Fuels on Highways: Tank ONO is Building New Stations and Surprising with Pricing Policy
Tank ONO is set to open a new gas station near Divišov on the D1 highway, promising lower fuel prices than those at other nearby stations.
Tank ONO, a network of budget gas stations, is establishing a new station near the 41st kilometer exit of the D1 highway in Divišov. This development comes as a part of the company's effort to offer competitive pricing, which they claim will be similar to their other locations, often several crowns cheaper than the prices found at stations directly on the highways. The new station will be a transformation of a former AS 24 gas station, previously catering primarily to freight transport.
Although the new station will not be directly visible from the highway, being located almost a kilometer away from the exit, it is expected that motorists looking for lower fuel prices will make the short detour. The area surrounding Divišov has several other fuel options, including MOL and Shell stations located at varying distances closer to Prague. However, during the time the article was written, both of these competitors were selling petrol for around 40 to 41 crowns per liter, with diesel being approximately three crowns more expensive.
This strategy by Tank ONO may attract budget-conscious drivers traveling along the D1 highway who are willing to go slightly off the main route to save on fuel costs. Such pricing policies could affect local competition in the area, as other station operators may need to reconsider their pricing to remain attractive to customers, potentially leading to overall lower fuel prices along this stretch of the highway.
