The Pumas secured a fifth-place finish in the Vancouver Sevens, earning 12 points to maintain their sixth position in the overall standings dominated by Fiji.
The Argentine national rugby sevens team, known as the Pumas 7s, finished fifth at the Vancouver leg of the World Rugby Sevens Circuit 2025-2026, held over the weekend. After three wins and two losses, the team earned 12 vital points that helped them increase their total to 56 points in the overall standings. They currently stand sixth, trailing behind Fiji, who leads the standings with 86 points, tied with South Africa following their consecutive title win.
During the tournament, the Pumas started their campaign in Group B with a narrow defeat against Australia, losing 17-15. They bounced back with a hard-fought victory against Fiji (17-14) but fell short against France, having to contend with a 28-12 loss which relegated them to the loser's bracket. In the repechage round, they managed to defeat New Zealand 24-21 and then claimed a decisive victory against France, winning 34-15. This performance secured them the highest possible placement in the tournament, recognizing their resilience against strong competition.
