The plane with Norwegians from Oman has landed

A Norwegian plane carrying citizens from Oman landed safely in Oslo after being organized due to difficulties faced by Norwegians in the Middle East amidst ongoing crises.

A Norwegian plane carrying 127 citizens, including 44 children, safely landed at Gardermoen Airport in Oslo on Monday morning, following an organized evacuation from Muscat, Oman, due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated this operation to assist those stranded, as the conflict in the region had severely limited travel options for many Norwegians, particularly those trying to return from Dubai.

The plane took off from Oman after the ministry arranged bus transportation for Norwegian citizens from Dubai to the Muscat airport on Sunday afternoon. While over 200 Norwegians expressed interest in the flight, only 121 confirmed their need for a seat. Priority was given to families with children and individuals with medical needs, ensuring that those most vulnerable were accommodated during this tumultuous time.

Espen Barth Eide, the Norwegian Foreign Minister, expressed relief that all citizens wishing to return could board the flight. The situation reflects the broader challenges faced by international travelers amid geopolitical tensions, emphasizing the need for robust diplomatic efforts to assist citizens abroad during crises.
