Zelensky: Ukrainian drone experts to the Middle East tomorrow
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that drone experts from Ukraine will arrive in the Middle East to assist in countering Iranian drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Ukrainian drone experts will be heading to the Middle East to help counteract the Iranian drone threat. In his statement, he highlighted Ukraine's "unique expertise" in handling drones utilized by Iran for attacks in the region. This move comes as Zelensky expressed hopes for Ukraine to acquire American-made air defense missiles in return for providing this expertise.
During a press conference following a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Kyiv, Zelensky stated that the experts would assess the situation on the ground and offer assistance upon their arrival. He emphasized a mutual opportunity for both Ukraine and the countries in the Middle East, potentially creating collaborative defense strategies against Iranian drone operations. These discussions indicate a growing military partnership and the exchange of defense capabilities.
Zelensky also mentioned that Ukraine is prepared to sell interceptor drones that are not currently in use by the Ukrainian military, showcasing Ukraine's readiness to extend its defense technology capabilities. Although no formal confirmation has been received from the US or Gulf states regarding their request for assistance from Ukraine, Zelensky hinted at an emerging cooperation that could reshape regional defense dynamics against drone warfare.
