You wouldn't believe it without evidence: Almost a one and a half meter catfish caught in Finland – Watch the video

A fisherman in Finland caught a nearly 1.5-meter catfish, setting a new record in the country's fishing history.

Benjamin Tillqvist, a fisherman based in Finland, made headlines after catching a remarkable 137.5-centimeter catfish weighing 15.5 kilograms, prompting discussions about the rarity of such a catch in Finland.

The fish was captured in the Kokemäenjoki river delta, and its size is significant because it eclipses the previous record catfish, which weighed just over 2 kilograms, highlighting the extraordinary nature of Tillqvist's find. Finnish fishing organizations noted that this catch is not only a personal milestone for Tillqvist but also adds to the country's record of large fish.

As a result of this catch, six new Finnish records have been recognized by the national fish record committee, with Tillqvist's catfish being the largest of them all, showcasing both the potential for fishing in Finland and the community support for preserving fishing heritage.
