A landslide has occurred on county road 5697 between Sandvika and Nyttingnes in Eikefjord, Kinn municipality, resulting in a complete blockage of the road. The police received notification of the incident at 14:30, and operations leader Frode Kolltveit reported that they have confirmed contact with local residents on both sides of the affected area, ensuring no one is missing.

In response to the situation, rescue operations were mobilized, including a rescue helicopter and ambulance boat, along with all emergency services. Despite the seriousness of the landslide, so far, only forest debris has been found in the sea, with no signs of people or vehicles being affected by the disaster. Authorities are monitoring the area closely to manage the aftermath of the landslide and ensure community safety.

Currently, the affected road is completely closed, and minimal traffic is present in the area. This situation highlights the potential dangers of landslides in hilly terrains, affecting local infrastructure and transportation while raising concerns about natural disaster preparedness in the community.
