Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath won the penultimate slalom of the World Cup season in Kranjska Gora, while Croatian skier Samuel Kolega qualified for the World Cup Finals.

Atle Lie McGrath from Norway emerged victorious in the penultimate slalom of the World Cup season held in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. McGrath clocked a winning time of 1:38.85 minutes, narrowly edging out his compatriot Henrik Kristoffersen, who was just one hundredth of a second slower. Brazilian skier Lucas Ghiotto secured third place, finishing only four hundredths of a second behind McGrath. The race took place under challenging conditions due to high temperatures and soft snow, which complicated the athletes' performances, particularly affecting those who were leading after the first run.

Croatian skier Samuel Kolega showcased a commendable effort, finishing in 18th place after ranking 17th in the first leg. His performance was sufficient to secure him a spot in the season's final slalom in Hafjell, bringing hope for a strong finish to his season. Filip Zubčić finished 25th overall, improving from 26th after the first run, while Istok Rodeš and Tvrtko Ljutić faced challenges, finishing 36th and 50th, respectively. The competition highlighted the pressure on athletes to adapt to adverse weather conditions, which played a significant role in the final results of the race.

This event was not only crucial for individual standings but also served as a precursor to the World Cup Finals, which are set to take place soon. McGrath's victory, alongside Kolega's qualification, reflects the competitive spirit of this year's slalom season and sets the stage for an exciting conclusion at Hafjell. The results from Kranjska Gora underline the importance of consistency and adaptability in high-stakes racing situations, making it an essential watch for skiing enthusiasts and analysts alike.
