Young man arrested suspected of selling drugs in front of a nightclub in Santarém

A young man was arrested for allegedly selling drugs outside a nightclub in Santarém, Brazil, after police were alerted by local residents.

A young man was arrested early Sunday morning in Santarém, Pará, on suspicion of drug dealing outside a nightclub located in the Caranazal neighborhood. The local police were notified by residents who reported seeing the suspect selling drugs during a party at the establishment. Upon arrival, police officers found that the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended shortly after.

Upon questioning, officers discovered illegal substances and cash on the individual. This arrest marks at least the third time the young man has been detained for the same offense, according to Lieutenant Fhelipe Emídio of the Military Police. The police highlighted the ongoing issue of drug trafficking in the area, emphasizing community vigilance as crucial in combating local crime.

Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the 16th Urban Police Station where he was formally charged. The seized drugs and cash were also sent to the police station for further investigation and legal proceedings, underscoring the police's commitment to addressing drug-related crime in the community.
