BrewDog sold highland estate for knockdown price after abandoning reforestation plans

BrewDog sold its Highland estate for a significantly reduced price after canceling plans for a large-scale reforestation project.

BrewDog, the self-proclaimed 'punk' beer company, made headlines as it sold its Highland estate in Scotland for a markedly lower price after it abandoned its ambitions for one of the most ambitious reforestation projects in the country. The Lost Forest initiative, which aimed to cover an extensive area of land in the Cairngorms national park, was expected to capture millions of tonnes of CO2. BrewDog's co-founder, James Watt, had envisioned this project as a central element of the company's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by planting millions of trees and restoring depleted peatlands, alongside promoting ecotourism opportunities.
