Two people are critically injured after a head-on collision in Ås on Saturday night involving six individuals.
On Saturday evening, a serious head-on collision occurred in Ås, resulting in critical injuries to two individuals. The incident involved a total of six people, with reports indicating that several individuals were trapped inside their vehicles, raising the severity of the situation. Emergency services were alerted at 23:11, with responders arriving on the scene shortly thereafter to provide life-saving first aid to one trapped person.
Following the collision, two other individuals from the same vehicle were transported to the hospital with critical injuries, while a third individual from the same car was reported to have non-critical injuries. Fortunately, both the driver and passenger of the second vehicle were assessed to have non-serious injuries. Investigations revealed that the vehicle carrying four individuals had crossed into oncoming traffic, which contributed to the crash's severity, as explained by operations leader Gisle Lindheim Sveen to NTB.
As a result of the collision, the road has been closed in both directions while emergency services manage the situation and conduct their investigation. The incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with road traffic accidents and the prompt response required from emergency services to save lives in such dire circumstances.
