Favorite Felicia wins Melodifestivalen
Felicia, a frontrunner from the beginning, won this year's Melodifestivalen with her self-penned song 'My system', which showcases a techno and house vibe, setting it apart from her earlier hits.
Felicia won the Melodifestivalen, establishing herself as the clear favorite after advancing from the second heat of the festival. Her song 'My system' is characterized by a powerful stage presence, featuring many dancers and a shift to more techno and house influences compared to her previous work in the epadunk genre under her alias Fröken Snusk. She collaborated with Norwegian songwriters Audun Agnar, Julie Bergan, Emily Harbakk, and Danish songwriter Theresa Rex to create this track, which Felicia believes has a broader appeal outside of Sweden, deviating from the typical Melodifestivalen style.
Having previously competed in 2024 as Fröken Snusk with the song 'Unga & fria', she narrowly missed qualifying for the finals. This year, her performance captured top points from the Finnish international jury during the finals, which helped elevate her standing with the audience vote. Her position as the favorite was further solidified, despite battling a stubborn cold leading up to the event. In a pre-final rehearsal, Felicia expressed her concerns regarding her health to interviewer Gina Dirawi, highlighting the challenges she faced yet her resilience in performing at a high level during the competition.
