Olomouc Took All Points from Jablonec in the End, Red Cards in Ďolíček

Olomouc defeated Jablonec 2-1 in a crucial match, enhancing their league standing while Jablonec received two red cards during the game.

In the 25th round of the Czech top league, Olomouc achieved a significant 2-1 victory over Jablonec, moving up to fifth place in the incomplete standings. The match saw Olomouc's defender Louis Lurvink score the opening goal in the first half, but Jablonec equalized with a penalty from Jan Chramosta after halftime. However, in the closing moments, Jáchym Šíp scored the decisive goal for Olomouc, marking their first win at Jablonec's ground since August 2005 after an 18-match winless streak.

Aside from their impressive performance on the pitch, Olomouc has now secured full points for three consecutive matches, setting a positive tone as they prepare for their UEFA Conference League knockout stage match against Mainz on Thursday. On the contrary, Jablonec has struggled, suffering their second consecutive defeat following their recent win over Slavia in the domestic cup's quarterfinals, which they won on penalties. If Plzeň wins their upcoming match against Hradec Králové, Jablonec risks dropping from third place in the league table.

The match featured significant moments, including a controversial penalty decision by referee Starý at the end of the first 15 minutes, initially awarding Olomouc a penalty for a handball by Jásir. However, after consulting VAR, he overturned his decision after determining that a Jablonec player, Novák, had committed the foul first. The match was tense and physical throughout, highlighted by two red cards issued to Jablonec players which further influenced the game's outcome and contributed to their downfall in this encounter.
