Ministry of Foreign Affairs: special flight has started its way from Dubai, one awaits departure
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that a special flight organized to repatriate citizens from the UAE has departed from Dubai, while another is awaiting launch.
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the initiation of a special flight from Dubai to assist Estonian citizens and their family members residing in Estonia but currently traveling in the United Arab Emirates. A flight by AirBaltic has already departed towards Tallinn, and another flight by Fly Dubai is expected to take off towards Riga on Sunday night.
In addition to these arrangements, two more special flights are scheduled to leave Dubai for Tallinn and Riga on Sunday, with one flight already fully booked. The Ministry has emphasized that ticket purchasing options are still available for those wishing to leave the UAE on the Fly Dubai flight scheduled for the evening, reflecting an ongoing effort to facilitate travel amidst changing circumstances in the region.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has highlighted the complexity of organizing these flights under rapidly changing conditions. He noted that since Saturday, the Ministry has been actively working to ensure the safe return of Estonian citizens, addressing various unexpected challenges that have arisen during the process.
