The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, has announced a significant expansion of its counter-terrorism capacity. The announcement was made public in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, highlighting the seriousness of the measures taken. The new strategy includes enhanced training for the personnel involved in the Counter Terrorism Unit, designed to improve their operational readiness. This specialized training program is being conducted in partnership with the British High Commission in Nigeria and the Office of the Counter Terrorism Regional Coordinator for West Africa, showcasing international collaboration in addressing local security issues.
