Aid Organization: More than 60 schools are affected in attacks against Iran

Israeli-American airstrikes have reportedly impacted numerous civilian sites in Iran, including over 60 schools, according to the aid organization Red Crescent.

The Israeli-American airstrikes initiated a week ago against Iran have caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, impacting schools, homes, and health centers. The Red Crescent, which is a sister organization of the Red Cross, reported severe consequences from these attacks, stating that 65 schools and 14 health centers have been hit, alongside the destruction of over 5,500 residential homes. This highlights the alarming level of destruction faced by civilians in conflict zones.

Furthermore, the aid organization revealed that their rescue vehicles have also sustained damage during these strikes, resulting in injuries to humanitarian workers who were engaged in relief efforts. The situation underscores the risks posed to aid operations in regions affected by military action, as humanitarian workers often operate in precarious environments where their safety is compromised.

Access to independently verify these statistics remains challenging for international press outlets, including DR, due to strict limitations on journalistic activities within Iran. This lack of independent verification raises concerns about the accuracy of reported figures, as the ongoing conflict complicates the ability to assess and report on the humanitarian impact of such military actions effectively.
