Greater São Paulo has a warning for storms this weekend
Meteorological forecasts indicate significant storm risks for Greater São Paulo over the weekend, with warnings of flooding and landslides, particularly on Sunday and Monday.
The weather forecast for Greater São Paulo warns of severe storms expected this weekend, as issued by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). There is an anticipated risk of heavy rainfall leading to flooding, landslides, and overflow of streams and rivers, particularly during the transition from Sunday (8) to Monday (9). The warnings underline the potential dangers posed by such weather conditions to residents in the affected areas.
On Saturday (7), the weather in São Paulo will start with sunny spells, which will gradually turn into cloudiness with occasional thunderstorms. Precipitation levels could reach around 30 millimeters throughout the day, while temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 20 °C and 28 °C. The foreseen weather pattern emphasizes the unstable atmospheric conditions that contribute to storm formation during this time of year.
Sunday (8) will continue to experience instability on the eastern coast of the state, encompassing Greater São Paulo and the entire coastline, with forecasts indicating sunshine in the morning and storms in the afternoon and evening. Another 25 millimeters of rain is anticipated in the capital, with high temperatures approaching 29 °C. The combination of heat and a cold front moving through the coast is contributing to the likelihood of these increased storm conditions, indicating a potentially hazardous situation for residents.
