Pentagon Spokesperson on Operations with Ecuador: 'Narcoterrorist Networks Will Not Find Shelter in Our Hemisphere'

U.S. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell highlighted a joint operation with Ecuador targeting narcoterrorist groups in Sucumbíos on March 6.

Sean Parnell, the U.S. Pentagon spokesperson, praised the collaborative efforts between Ecuador and the United States aimed at dismantling narcoterrorist organizations. This joint operation took place in Sucumbíos province on March 6 and targeted a criminal supply complex linked to narcotraffickers. Parnell acknowledged the leadership of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa and congratulated the Ecuadorian defense forces for their effective participation in the operations.

During the operation, video footage showcased the destruction of a rest area used by Mono Tole, the leader of the Comandos de Frontera (CDF), and served as a training ground for drug traffickers. Parnell emphasized that U.S. efforts in the Western Hemisphere focus on detecting, dismantling, and eliminating designated terrorist organizations that contribute to violence and instability in the region.

This collaborative endeavor not only reinforces Ecuador's security capabilities but also underscores the strategic partnership between Ecuador and the United States in combating drug-related crime. The operation signifies a strong message against narcoterrorism, as both nations work together to ensure that these criminal networks do not find refuge in the hemisphere, thereby enhancing regional security and cooperation against organized crime.
