A train conductor was assaulted by three teenagers after asking them to leave the train for misconduct.
A 30-year-old train conductor was physically assaulted on a train heading towards Drammen on Friday evening when he requested three misbehaving teenagers to leave the train. The teenagers reacted violently, attacking the conductor, as reported by police spokesperson StΓ₯le Olstad Fuglaas. Following a disturbance that was captured on video surveillance, other passengers reported the incident to emergency services.
The attack left the conductor with visible injuries, including swelling to his face after being struck multiple times. The train was subsequently stopped at Drammen station, where some of the assailants attempted to flee on the train tracks. However, law enforcement was able to apprehend all three individuals, who are in their early teens. The incident caused a temporary stoppage of train services for approximately 40 minutes while police managed the situation.
Following the incident, the train services resumed, and the conductor was set to be interviewed by the police and possibly taken to a hospital for treatment. This situation raises concerns regarding safety aboard public transport and the behavior of young individuals in such environments, prompting discussions on necessary measures to prevent future occurrences.
