After the strike at the start of classes, Kicillof's government confirmed the salary agreement with teachers in the province of Buenos Aires

The provincial government of Buenos Aires has confirmed a new salary agreement with teachers following a strong strike at the start of the school year.

In an attempt to ease tensions and address demands from educators, the government of Axel Kicillof in Buenos Aires province announced a new salary agreement with teachers amidst a significant strike that disrupted the commencement of classes. This agreement was confirmed by the provincial Education Minister, following a strike that included participation from Suteba, one of the most notable teachers' unions led by Roberto Baradel, who is known for his close ties to Kicillof. The initial strike action was driven by dissatisfaction with a prior salary offer deemed 'insufficient' from the previous week.

The new agreement, reached during a recent bargaining session, stipulates a salary increase of 7.5%—5% effective from March and an additional 2.5% in April. Moreover, teachers will receive a non-remunerative and non-bonifiable
