Police arrest four suspected kidnappers linked to Ondo attack
The Ondo State Police have apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in a kidnapping incident that resulted in a death and an abduction in Ilu-Abo.
The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State has recently detained four suspects believed to be involved in a violent kidnapping incident that occurred along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo. This incident, which took place on January 26, resulted in the tragic death of a local resident, John Ofuduwa, and the abduction of a woman named Oladeinde Tomilola, who was subsequently released. The police stated that the suspects were apprehended following actionable intelligence regarding their whereabouts in a hotel near Ado Garage in Akure, where they had been hiding.
The arrests were made by operatives from the Ondo State Police Command, in collaboration with the stateβs Security Network Agency, known as the Amotekun Corps. Police Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh confirmed the operation and detailed how it was conducted by tactical teams from the command. This cooperative approach demonstrates the commitment of the police and local security agencies to combat crime and enhance public safety in the region.
