Iran's warning: "Europe will be a legitimate target if involved in the war"
Iran warns Europe that it will target them if they engage in hostilities alongside the US and Israel against Iran.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has issued a stern warning to Europe, emphasizing that any European engagement in military actions against Iran could render them legitimate targets for retaliation by Tehran. This cautionary message was delivered during an interview with FRANCE 24, where he highlighted that Iran had already communicated this stance to European nations and others. He reiterated that if any country participates in the ongoing attacks initiated by the United States and Israel, they would face repercussions from Iran.
Takht-Ravanchi also mentioned recent developments in negotiations, asserting that the latest discussions held in Geneva were productive, and that Iranian officials have been negotiating in good faith with the United States. He criticized the US government, suggesting that their alliance with Israel prompted a military escalation against Iran just days following what was described as a successful round of talks. This situation indicates a tense atmosphere surrounding diplomatic efforts and military actions related to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
Additionally, the deputy minister confirmed that Iran has been conducting strikes against Kurdish groups in neighboring Iraq, claiming these groups are being armed by the CIA and Mossad. This assertion not only illustrates Iran's resolve to counter perceived threats but also highlights the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the region, as various foreign powers engage with local groups. Such developments may heighten tensions further, complicating the chances for a peaceful resolution as both military and diplomatic avenues are pursued.
