Women’s participation in Azul flights jumps from 38% to 46% in seven years

A recent study by Azul airline shows a significant increase in the percentage of women among its passengers, rising from 38% in 2018 to 46% in 2025. Conducted in honor of International Women’s Day, the report highlights the changing profile of women travelers, noting that names such as Maria, Fernanda, and Juliana were the most frequent among the passengers.

Furthermore, the study reveals shifts in age demographics among female travelers. While women aged 35-44 still constitute the largest group, their share has decreased from 29% to 24% over the past seven years. Conversely, the age group of 25-30 has seen notable growth, now accounting for 22% of female clients. This demographic shift indicates a growing trend of younger women taking to the skies more often.

Additionally, the report discusses the preferred travel times, noting that 35% of women prefer morning flights, and there is a rising interest in early morning travel between midnight and 6 AM. These insights reflect the evolving patterns and preferences of women as travelers, emphasizing the importance of understanding customer demographics in the airline industry.
