The paths of „Lietkabelis“ and F. Aimaqas have parted ways
The Lithuanian basketball player F. Aimaqas has parted ways with the team Lietkabelis after suffering a foot injury.
The Lithuanian basketball player F. Aimaqas, aged 27, has officially separated from the club Lietkabelis after experiencing a foot injury during a match against Šiauliai on February 18. This injury prevented him from participating in the Citadele-KMT final four, which took place on February 21-22, where Lietkabelis managed to secure the bronze medal.
During his time with Lietkabelis, F. Aimaqas made an impactful contribution, playing in 10 Eurocup matches, 8 in the Lithuanian basketball league (LKL), and 2 in the Citadele King Mindaugas Cup quarterfinals. His performance demonstrated his abilities and importance to the team, making his departure significant for both him and the club.
Looking forward, Lietkabelis is set to play their next home game on March 15 against Jonava, and this match will mark a new chapter for the team as they adjust to the changes in their roster following Aimaqas's exit. The situation reflects not only the challenges of managing player injuries but also the dynamics of team composition in professional sports.
