In honor of International Women's Day, Petrópolis, Brazil, is hosting the '1st ProtagonistAs' event from March 6 to 8, organized by OAB Mulher. This free event at Unifase features a variety of cultural activities and discussions aimed at highlighting female empowerment and updating members of the legal profession. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday evening with notable speakers, including Ana Tereza Basílio, the president of OAB-RJ, and Deise Ferreira Vianna de Castro, who will address topics concerning motherhood and human rights in the penal system. On Saturday, the event will offer panels from 9 AM to 7 PM covering a range of legal topics, including Labor Law, Social Security Law, Criminal Law, Digital Law, Military Law, Environmental Law, Tax Law, and Family Law. In addition, discussions will touch on pressing societal issues such as domestic violence, entrepreneurship, and institutional racism, making the event comprehensive in its approach to women’s rights.
