Italy is enhancing its presence in European strategies for technological and digital autonomy by taking a leading role in the newly formed European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (Edic). This consortium is tasked with developing the EU's sovereign cloud infrastructure, aiming to provide the European Union with greater technological independence and reduce reliance on non-European providers.

Serafino Sorrenti will represent Italy at the top of this initiative, serving as the Executive Vice President of the Edic. His appointment signifies Italy's strengthened role within European policies focused on developing strategic digital infrastructure and ensures that the country plays a critical part in shaping the future of digital sovereignty in Europe.
