Will Azerbaijan Go to War with Iran? The Embassy Has Been Evacuated in Tehran, Weapons Are Being Taken to the Border
Azerbaijan has fully evacuated its embassy in Tehran and is preparing its military following Iranian drone attacks.
Azerbaijan has reacted strongly to Iranian drone attacks by fully evacuating its embassy in Tehran and urging its military to remain on high alert. In addition to the embassy in the Iranian capital, Azerbaijan has also cleared its consulate in Tabriz and begun deploying self-propelled artillery systems along the border with Iran. The Azerbaijani government is clearly signaling its readiness to respond to these provocations.
According to reports, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that President Ilham Aliyev's recent statements following the drone attacks convey a clear message regarding Azerbaijan's security and diplomatic actions being taken at the highest levels. During a press briefing in Baku alongside Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mihai Popsoi, Bayramov emphasized the complete withdrawal of diplomatic staff from Iran, reflecting the escalating tensions between the two nations.
The decision to evacuate diplomatic missions in Iran is a significant measure that indicates the deterioration of relations, which could have broader implications for regional stability. Azerbaijan's military readiness and the positioning of artillery systems along the border suggest that the country is preparing for a possible confrontation. This ongoing conflict could escalate further if diplomatic solutions are not sought, raising concerns over a potential military conflict in the region.
