Three men were arrested after robbing an app driver while he was on the MA-201 highway in São Luís, Brazil, with the victim escaping by jumping from the moving vehicle.

On Thursday night, three men were apprehended by police following an incident where they allegedly robbed an app driver on the MA-201 highway, also known as Estrada de Ribamar, located in the Metropolitan Region of São Luís, Brazil. The driver reported the robbery at the Maiobão Police Station, stating that the crime occurred near the Maiobão neighborhood in the municipality of Paço do Lumiar. During the assault, the assailants stole the vehicle while the driver was still inside, leading him to bravely leap from the moving car to escape the dangerous situation.

After receiving information about the robbery, the Albatroz team from the 13th Military Police Battalion executed search operations in the area and found the victim's vehicle with the suspects still inside. The officers approached the car and arrested the three men without any resistance. Following their arrest, the vehicle was recovered and safely returned to the driver, while the suspects, whose names were not disclosed by police, were taken to the Maiobão Police Station for further processing of the case.

This incident highlights the risks app drivers face while working and raises concerns about public safety in the region. As cities nationwide grapple with increasing crime rates, particularly in transportation-related services, there is a growing urgency for improved safety measures and police presence to protect both drivers and passengers.
