Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, reported the creation of 1,164 new formal job positions in January 2026, according to the Cadastro Geral de Empregados e Desempregados (Caged) from the federal government. This new data reflects a significant positive shift, with higher hiring at 20,669 compared to 19,505 layoffs during the same period. Compared to the previous month, December, when the state saw a reduction of 5,372 positions, this new figure illustrates a considerable recovery in the job market.
Additionally, January 2026's performance exceeds that of January 2025, where the state also experienced job losses, totaling 341 positions.
