Tokmanni Made a Splash: Virpi from Vantaa and Sanna from Lieksa Walked the Catwalk

Tokmanni held its first fashion show at the Olympic Hall in Helsinki, showcasing the latest collection from the traditional Finnish brand Pola.

On March 5, 2026, the national retail chain Tokmanni hosted its inaugural fashion show at the Kellotornin Olympia Hall in downtown Helsinki. This event marked a significant milestone for the company, as it combined retail and fashion in a unique setting. The show featured the latest spring and summer collections from Pola, a brand historically significant in Finnish fashion and now owned by Tokmanni.

In January, Tokmanni opened applications for customers to partake in the show, leading to a selection process where 400 customers applied. Ultimately, two participants were chosen: Virpi Kamil from Vantaa and Sanna Turunen from Lieksa. These individuals walked the runway alongside well-known professional models and beauty queens, highlighting the fusion of everyday customers with the professional fashion industry and adding a relatable touch to the runway.

Pola’s legacy dates back to 1927, originally established as Paitatehdas Oy, later evolving into Pallo-Paita Oy and ultimately becoming Pola Oy. Annually, over four million Pola garments are sold in Finland, with availability in each of the more than 200 Tokmanni stores and through its online platform. This event not only celebrated Pola's heritage but also reinforced Tokmanni's position as a key player in the Finnish retail market, melding tradition with modern retail experiences.
