Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon intensify as Hezbollah issues an unprecedented evacuation warning to residents of northern Israel.
Military confrontations on the Lebanese front escalated early Friday, with the Israeli army launching a series of fierce airstrikes targeting areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, particularly the southern suburbs of Beirut. Hezbollah, in response, targeted Israeli sites and issued a significant evacuation warning for residents in the border towns of Israel.
Since dawn, Israeli fighter jets have conducted a fresh wave of airstrikes against the southern suburbs of Beirut, hitting areas such as Janusus, Al-Masharifah, and Harat Harek near the coastal hospital, and also damaged a residential building in the Hadath neighborhood. The Israeli army reported they executed 26 waves of attacks in the suburbs alone since the beginning of this offensive, targeting a military complex and multiple tall buildings housing military infrastructure for Hezbollah, as well as drone storage facilities and the partyβs executive headquarters.
In southern Lebanon, Lebanese National News Agency reported airstrikes hitting various towns including Sarifa, Tull, Aita ash-Shab, Tulin, Al-Sawana, Majdal Selim, Kfar Rumman, and Habush, with airstrikes also impacting the town of Dourous in the eastern Bekaa region. The continuous strikes reflect a severe escalation in the ongoing conflict and its potential implications on both sides, raising concerns about civilian safety and further regional instability.
