US Defense: Plenty of Ammunition, Operations Against Iran Can Last Long... Deadline is Decided by America
US Secretary of Defense Peter Hegseth dismissed concerns about a lack of ammunition for military operations against Iran, affirming the US's capability for prolonged engagement.
On December 5, US Secretary of Defense Peter Hegseth addressed concerns regarding the military operation 'Great Wrath' against Iran, stating there is no shortage of ammunition. He emphasized the US has adequate stockpiles of both defensive and offensive weaponry for extended operations, asserting that the timeline for these operations will be determined by the US. Hegseth noted that Iran misjudges US resolve, stating, 'Our will is certainly not weak.' The message conveyed is one of strength and commitment from the US military.
During a press briefing at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, Hegseth was joined by General Brad Cooper from US Central Command, who reported that as US combat power increases, Iranβs military capabilities are diminishing. He cited successfully hitting nearly 200 targets across Iran over the past 72 hours, including sites deep within Iranian territory. A notable operation involved the targeting of underground ballistic missile launchers, along with strikes against Iranian institutions that pose future threats to US citizens.
General Cooper highlighted the effectiveness of the current operations, showing a significant decrease in Iranian missile attacks by 90% and drone strikes by 83% compared to the beginning of the operation. He also reported that the US Navy has destroyed over 30 Iranian vessels, including drone-carrier ships equivalent to World War II aircraft carriers. This assertive military engagement aims not only to demonstrate US dominance but also to curtail Iran's ability to threaten regional and national security.
