The Glocal Trade Expert Incubating Program (GTEP) at Kyung Hee University has released a white paper titled 'Kyung Hee Export White Paper: Challenges and Practices of GTEP 19th Term', documenting the achievements of its 19th-term students in global market analysis and export efforts. Led by team leader Kang Tae-young, the report highlights the various challenges and successes encountered while engaging with international markets, given the rapidly evolving trade environment characterized by changing global supply chains and rising regulatory demands from different countries.
Over the past year, GTEP 19th-term students conducted in-depth analyses of various export markets, including the United States, Singapore, and Japan, focusing on diversified products such as cosmetics, pet food, and health supplements. Their work not only cataloged industry trends but also addressed complex issues such as regulatory challenges, tariffs, and logistical hurdles that exporters face. The white paper presents strategic models tailored to help navigate these obstacles, showcasing an understanding of the practical dynamics of international trade.
This publication consists of five chapters detailing strategies for market entry into the U.S. and Japanese skincare markets, as well as the Singaporean market for Korean skincare brands. Each chapter provides structured analysis of market sizes and competitive landscapes, regulatory compliance strategies, customs risks, and logistics issues while proposing effective digital export strategies leveraging platforms like Amazon and Shopee. The inclusion of sustainability considerations and ESG branding strategies further emphasizes their commitment to fostering long-term competitiveness for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises in the global market.
