Ukraine and Russia have exchanged 200 prisoners of war each, marking the first phase of a larger agreement to swap a total of 1,000 prisoners despite ongoing conflict.
In a significant development amid the ongoing conflict, Ukraine and Russia have successfully exchanged 200 prisoners of war (POWs) each, following an agreement reached in Geneva last month. This exchange is the first segment of a broader plan to swap a total of 1,000 POWs, with both nations aiming to release 500 individuals by the end of this arrangement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that today marked a joyous occasion for 200 Ukrainian families who were notified that their loved ones are returning home.
