Dancers Patrícia Muniz and Luciano Oliveira from São Paulo will represent Brazil at the World Salsa Championship in Chile in May.

Patrícia Muniz and Luciano Oliveira, professional dancers from São Paulo, have earned the opportunity to represent Brazil at the upcoming El Mundial de Salsa set to take place in Chile this May. Their qualification comes on the heels of impressive performances in national competitions, signaling a significant milestone in their careers that collectively thrive when paired together. Previously, both dancers had established their own successful tracks in the ballroom dance industry prior to their partnership.

The duo formed their partnership in 2025 with the explicit goal of competing in the top Brazilian salsa championships and aiming for a spot at the world stage. Until that point, Muniz and Oliveira had been competing independently, amassing individual accolades and experiences in dance, but consolidated their priorities into a singular focus when they joined forces. This collaboration highlights their commitment to soaring in the competitive arena of salsa, showcasing the advancements they have achieved together.

Luciano Oliveira's journey in dance began during his childhood, rooted in a family imbued with musical and artistic influences. By 2005, he had officially entered the world of ballroom dance, and his technical foundation was built through studies at Cia Terra Escola de Dança, where he not only refined his skills but also performed as a professional. The dedication and preparation reflected in their journey underscore the rich cultural landscapes from which they come, championing Brazilian representation in an international competitive dance environment.
