PRF seizes armored car of 'Sicário', accused of being part of Vorcaro's militia

The Federal Highway Police in Brazil seized an armored car belonging to Luiz Phillipi Machado de Moraes Mourão, known as Sicário, who was arrested for allegedly being part of a militia linked to banker Daniel Vorcaro.

On the night of Wednesday, October 4, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) in Brazil seized an armored vehicle belonging to Luiz Phillipi Machado de Moraes Mourão, nicknamed Sicário. Mourão was arrested on suspicion of being part of a private militia associated with Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master. Remarkably, Mourão died just hours after his arrest, raising questions and concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding his detention.

The PRF reported that the vehicle, a luxury LR Range Rover valued at R$ 700,000, was discovered during an approach on BR-381 in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais. The couple traveling in the vehicle claimed it belonged to a friend and were said to be en route from Belo Horizonte to São Paulo. However, it remains unclear whether they mentioned Mourão's name during the PRF's inquiry. Importantly, no illegal items or warrants were found in connection with the couple, according to the PRF's statement.

Moreover, the PRF indicated that the Range Rover had irregular licensing and a circulation restriction imposed by the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF). With the vehicle now seized, it will be held in custody as part of the ongoing investigations into organized crime and militia activities in Brazil. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges authorities face in combating militia activity linked to organized crime in the country, drawing attention to the broader implications for public safety and law enforcement efforts.
