Police are hunting for a woman in a nurse's uniform
A woman posing as a nurse is under investigation for allegedly obtaining access to elderly individuals in Oslo to steal from them.
Police in Oslo are currently searching for a woman who has been reported to have approached at least four elderly individuals in three different neighborhoods, posing as a health worker. According to the police, not all victims had appointments for home health care, which raised suspicions regarding her intentions. The woman knocked on doors and claimed she was there to conduct health assessments, including measuring blood pressure. However, it appears that during these visits, she attempted to steal from some victims.
This troubling situation escalated to the point where police reported the theft of jewelry from one address, suggesting that the woman may have also managed to steal items from other homes. Initially, three victims were reported to be affected, including two women in their 80s and a younger man, but authorities have since received additional reports of a fourth victim who also had an unrequested visit from the alleged nurse. This has raised concerns that there may be more victims in the community who have encountered this woman.
As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone who may have had similar encounters to come forward and share their experiences. The involvement of elderly individuals in these crimes underscores the need for awareness and vigilance within communities, especially towards individuals posing as professionals offering health-related services. As the search for this suspect continues, police stress the importance of questioning unexpected visits from individuals claiming to provide home care services, especially for vulnerable populations such as the elderly.
