In April at LNDT’s Great Hall – the first drama play by Karolis Kaupinis

The play depicts a group of theater creators attempting to revive a legendary performance while grappling with personal and artistic struggles.

The upcoming play "Lithuanian Death Notifications. The History of a Single Performance" will debut at LNDT's Great Hall and showcases a talented cast, including notable actors such as Rasa Samuolytė and Vaidotas Martinaitis. The plot revolves around a group of theatre creators striving to recreate a legendary performance that holds deep significance for their collective identity and current artistic endeavors.

The story explores the various challenges faced by the actors, including personal dilemmas related to love and fulfillment, as well as the aging director's (played by Vaidotas Martinaitis) quest for lost glory. The atmosphere is one of continual struggle, as both onstage and behind the scenes, moments of success and happiness are fleeting and elusive. This reflects the harsh realities of the theatrical world, where achieving lasting happiness seems increasingly unattainable.

Amidst this backdrop of ambition and yearning, the play highlights the futility of trying to capture transient moments, as the creators find themselves trapped in a theater that metaphorically transforms into a hellish environment. The artistic team, including renowned set and costume designer Paulė Bocullaitė, aims to transport the audience into a narrative filled with complex emotions and existential questions, ultimately questioning whether true fulfillment is possible in the often tumultuous world of theatre.
