CBSE cancels 10th exams and changes schedule for 12th exams in the Middle East
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has canceled the 10th grade exams and postponed the 12th grade exams in several Middle Eastern countries due to the prevailing conditions.
In response to the ongoing situation in several Middle Eastern countries, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India has made significant changes to its examination schedule for grades 10 and 12. A circular issued on March 5, 2026, indicated that exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates would be rescheduled. This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students affected by the regional circumstances.
According to the circular, all grade 10 exams originally planned to take place from March 7 to March 11, 2026, have been canceled. Additionally, exams that were previously postponed, scheduled for March 2, 5, and 6, are also canceled. The CBSE has stated that further information on how the results for grade 10 students in these countries will be declared will be provided in due course, and a new notice will be issued soon regarding this matter.
The board has also announced an important decision regarding the grade 12 exams, stating that the examination set for March 7, 2026, has been temporarily deferred. A new date for this exam will be announced later. This timely response by CBSE reflects its commitment to adapt to changing circumstances while prioritizing student welfare and academic integrity in the affected regions.
