He had been facing chronic kidney issues and suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest prior to his death. His passing was announced on Thursday, March 5, following this critical health condition which started earlier in the week.
The Ceará Sporting Club expressed deep condolences for Aleluia's death, honoring his impactful contribution to the team, particularly for his role in the memorable victory during the 2006 Campeonato Cearense final, where he assisted in the crucial goal scored by Juninho against their rivals, Fortaleza. During his tenure with the club from 2004 to 2007, he participated in 97 matches and scored 20 goals, securing his legacy as a beloved player for the supporters of Vozão.
In a tribute to Aleluia, the Ceará Sporting Club has requested a minute of silence during the upcoming Clássico-Rei match on Sunday, March 8, at the Arena Castelão, alongside a three-day official mourning period.
