Sri Lanka is attempting to rescue lives from another Iranian naval vessel following a US attack that sank an Iranian ship and resulted in numerous casualties.

In response to the US actions, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the attack as an 'atrocity'. He warned that the United States would face severe repercussions for creating a dangerous precedent in international maritime conduct. The Iranian warship, believed to be in international waters, was reportedly caught unaware of the impending attack by US forces, leading to significant international tensions and concerns over naval engagements in the region.
