Islamist and Russian Hackers Conduct Joint Cyberattack in Support of Iran
A surge in cyberattacks, primarily by Islamist and Russian hackers, targeting Middle Eastern and European infrastructure has been reported following military campaigns against Iran.
Recent reports reveal a significant increase in cyberattacks directed at government institutions and critical infrastructure, mainly in the Middle East and Europe, by a coalition of Islamist and Russian hackers. This wave of DDoS attacks has come in the wake of the U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran, identified by the codenames 'Epic Fury' and 'Roaring Lion.' Cybersecurity experts warn that aggressive retaliation from hacktivists has intensified, with two groups, Keymous+ and DieNet, responsible for nearly 70% of the assault activities noted between February 28 and March 2.
