5 Moroccan Stadiums Compete for Best in the World Award

Five Moroccan stadiums that were inaugurated or renovated last year are in a fierce competition for the 'Stadium of the Year 2025' award.

Five Moroccan stadiums have entered a strong competition for the prestigious 'Stadium of the Year 2025' award. This competition is organized by 'StadiumDB', a specialized website that covers news, rankings, and designs of sports stadiums globally. The award celebrates the best stadiums, with this year marking the sixteenth edition of the contest. The five stadiums competing for this accolade have either been opened or significantly renovated in the past year.

The nominated stadiums include the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with a capacity of 69,000 spectators, located in Rabat, and the Moulay Hassan Stadium, accommodating 22,000 spectators, also in the capital. Additionally, the Olympic Stadium, with a capacity of 21,000, and the City Stadium (previously known as the Postal Stadium), which can hold 18,000 attendees, are both situated in Rabat. The Ibn Battuta Stadium, the largest in Morocco with room for 76,000 spectators, is located in Tangier, showcasing the impressive facilities of the country.

The presence of four stadiums in Rabat reflects significant investments aimed at transforming the capital into a leading sports hub, as noted by the local newspaper "Al-Mountakhab." Furthermore, Tangier enhances this narrative by housing the largest stadium in Morocco, which is also considered one of the most impressive in Africa. With such developments, Morocco is poised to cement its reputation in the international sports scene.
