Teacher Danced with Students, Headmaster Suspended as Video Goes Viral
A headmaster in Jharkhand, India, has been suspended after a video of him dancing with female students during a farewell ceremony went viral, following allegations of inappropriate conduct.
In Garhwa district of Jharkhand, a significant disciplinary issue has arisen at a government school, leading to strict action from the education department. This incident occurred at the upgraded middle school Sohbaria during a farewell ceremony for eighth-grade female students, where inappropriate songs were played, and both the headmaster and several teachers danced with the students. Following the incident, a video surfaced on social media, drawing serious attention and concern from authorities.
Once the incident was highlighted, Kaesar Raza, the District Education Officer of Garhwa, initiated an investigation based on the claims made. The investigation revealed that during the ceremony, inappropriate and vulgar songs were played, and the headmaster, Kundan Kumar Ranjan, along with some teachers, participated in the dancing with the students. This behavior was deemed unacceptable, as it violated the school's dignity and the educational environment expected in such institutions.
Given the gravity of the allegations, Ranjan has been suspended effective immediately under the Jharkhand Government Servants Rules, 2016. During the suspension period, he will remain at the district education office, awaiting further inquiries and possible disciplinary actions. This incident underscores the importance of maintaining decorum in educational institutions and highlights the repercussions of misconduct by educators in India.
