Marinakis: What he answered to Vima about Androulakis' allegations regarding direct assignments
Greek government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis responded to questions about allegations from Niko Androulakis regarding direct assignments of contracts for a communication campaign to expatriate Greeks.
In a recent briefing with political reporters, Greek government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis addressed allegations made by Niko Androulakis concerning a supposed 'party' of direct assignments to companies for a campaign aimed at informing expatriate Greeks. Marinakis stated that if there hadn’t already been a response to these claims, one would be forthcoming from the Ministry of the Interior. This indicates that the government is taking the allegations seriously and is prepared to clarify its position.
In addition to discussing the allegations, Marinakis was questioned about potential meetings with political party leaders. He noted that there was a request for such a meeting from Dimitris Natsios of the Niki party, which is scheduled to take place at the Parliament the following day. This meeting is likely to be pivotal in fostering dialogue among various political factions and may influence responses to ongoing issues in the country.
The briefing also touched on the situation in the Middle East, particularly the repatriation of Greek citizens amidst ongoing regional violence. Marinakis announced that 93 Greek citizens and their family members had been repatriated from Oman via a special flight organized by Aegean Airlines, assisted by Greek embassies in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, he mentioned that 42 Greek citizens were transported from Bethlehem to Egypt, indicating a proactive approach by the government to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad during the turmoil.
