This finding comes from the Hurun Report, a research institute that released its latest list this Thursday. Notably, the global count of billionaires exceeds 4,000 for the first time ever, reflecting a growing wealth concentration in various regions across the globe.
The report highlights that India's billionaire count stands at 308, making it the third highest in the world, followed by Russia with 105 billionaires. This assessment of wealth is derived from data collected until January 15 of the current year, indicating a significant increase from the previous year's total of 3,442 billionaires. The Hurun Report has gained a reputation for its comprehensive analysis of ultra-wealthy individuals in China and beyond, akin to the more widely known Forbes list.
When analyzing cities, New York remains the global capital of billionaires, housing 146, followed closely by Shenzhen at 132, Shanghai with 120, and Beijing with 107. The report identifies Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance (the parent company of TikTok), as the wealthiest individual in the country.
