On Holi day, two severe road accidents took place in the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, highlighting concerns about road safety during festive periods. The first incident in Kusoura Bazaar involved a speeding THAR vehicle that rear-ended a group of motorcycle riders, causing them to be hurled into the air due to the impact. The injured riders were quickly transported to a local hospital; however, one remains in a critical condition. Local police are actively pursuing the driver of the THAR, who fled the scene after the accident.

In a separate incident at Ram Janaki Marg in Duboulia, two motorcycles collided head-on, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of two young men at the scene. This incident reinforces the dangers faced by motorcyclists on busy roadways, especially during high-traffic periods like Holi when festivities attract increased activity on the roads. Police have taken possession of the bodies and commenced legal proceedings regarding the accident.
