Between reports and shoes, the progress of Guanajuato
The governor of Guanajuato presents her second government report while celebrating the inauguration of an important shoe industry event, highlighting the state's investment stability amid uncertainty.
Today, the governor of Guanajuato presented her second government report to the State Congress and later addressed the public at the León Fair, emphasizing that despite international uncertainty and local security concerns, investment in the state has not stalled, which is considered a positive development. In conjunction with her report, she inaugurated the 94th edition of the Leather and Footwear Salon (SAPICA) in León, marking the centennial of the founding of the Social Union of Shoemakers of León, the precursor to the current State Footwear Industry Chamber (CICEG) led by Juan Carlos Cashat.
Guanajuato currently dominates 74.3 percent of the national market value in the leather-footwear sub-sector, generating over 108,000 jobs linked to this industry, with León recognized as the principal hub for footwear production in the state. This showcases the significance of the footwear industry not only for local employment but also for the broader economic stability of Guanajuato in times of uncertainty. The continued success of this sector reflects a resilient local economy capable of weathering external challenges.
The governor’s report and the SAPICA event serve to strengthen the narrative of Guanajuato as a region that prioritizes industrial growth and investment, making it a focal point for potential investors. As she highlights advancements during her term, the emphasis on maintaining a favorable business climate amid ongoing security challenges is crucial for the future prospects of Guanajuato's economy, and serves to inspire confidence among stakeholders and the community alike.
