Police in Helsinki are investigating a case where a fire was allegedly set intentionally in a residential apartment in Jätkäsaari on Wednesday evening. The lead investigator, Tuomas Lindholm from the Helsinki police, reported that the suspect, a middle-aged man born in 1979, allegedly used some kind of flammable liquid to start the fire. The police have arrested this individual, who is currently in custody.

According to the current information, the suspect did not have any apparent motive to harm anyone else or the other residents of the building. The fire was ignited in his own apartment for reasons that remain unclear, although there is no indication that he aimed to cause widespread destruction.
