A grave incident of domestic violence has emerged from Latur district in Maharashtra, where a physical confrontation between a husband and wife led to a fatal outcome. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Sikandar Siddaram Rathod, who struggled with alcohol addiction. Family members noted that arguments between the couple were frequent, primarily attributed to Sikandar's alcoholism, which made him return home inebriated and often resulted in disputes with his wife Kamlabai.

On Tuesday evening, the situation escalated when Sikandar came home under the influence of alcohol and got into a heated argument with his wife. According to police reports, during the fight, Kamlabai struck him in the chest, causing him to collapse. Sikandar acquired a severe head injury from the fall, which quickly led to a decline in his health, resulting in him losing consciousness. Kamlabai, in distress, rushed him to the government hospital in Latur for urgent medical assistance.

Despite their best efforts, medical personnel at the hospital declared Sikandar dead upon arrival. The police have since taken Kamlabai into custody and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident, highlighting the severe social implications related to domestic violence, particularly involving alcohol abuse, in the region.
