[Pharmaceutical and Bio News] Samsung Biologics Holds Events to Celebrate International Women’s Day
Samsung Biologics is hosting various internal events from February 25 to March 6 in celebration of International Women’s Day, focusing on promoting gender equality and supporting vulnerable women in the community.
Samsung Biologics, led by CEO John Lim, is organizing a series of events to celebrate International Women's Day, culminating in activities from February 25 to March 6. International Women’s Day, officially recognized by the UN since 1975, aims to honor women's achievements and advocate for gender equality. This year’s official slogan, 'Give to Gain,' is being embodied through an official pose challenge where employees take photos in a designated pose, resulting in product donations for local organizations supporting vulnerable women, such as shelters for teenage girls and single mothers.
Furthermore, the events highlight initiatives like the 'Experience Sharing Campaign,' which recently featured the youngest female executive, Ahn So-yeon, following her promotion. This initiative aims to inspire other women within the company by showcasing successful female leaders and emphasizing their contributions to the organization. Samsung Biologics has also implemented continuous support systems to empower women in leadership roles and prevent career interruptions, including leadership training for female managers, mentoring programs, and family-friendly policies such as extended parental leave and on-site daycare.
Lee Gyu-ho, head of the People Center at Samsung Biologics, emphasized the company’s commitment to gender equality and diversity as essential values for sustainable growth. He stated that the company would continue to create an environment where all employees can maximize their capabilities and enhance competitiveness through an inclusive organizational culture. This focus not only uplifts women but also strengthens the overall workforce, aligning with modern corporate social responsibility ideals.
